Dr. Soper grew up on the southern Oregon coast and completed his undergraduate studies at Walla Walla University in eastern Washington. He went on to earn his dental degree at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in Southern California. After dental school, he practiced general dentistry for two years alongside his father in southern Oregon, an experience that shaped his patient-first, family-minded approach to care.
Drawn to the way orthodontics blends science, art, and long-term health, he returned to Loma Linda University for advanced specialty education, earning a Master’s degree in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics along with his Certificate in Orthodontics in 1999. His Master’s thesis, conducted in collaboration with faculty at the University of Washington and Loma Linda University, studied the long-term stability of teeth after orthodontic treatment, the science of helping a finished smile last.
