How Invisalign Works
What happens if I lose an aligner?
A: Do not panic. Call our Bellevue office and we will tell you whether to move to your next set or order a replacement. Keeping your previous aligner as a backup is a smart habit.
How do I clean my aligners?
A: Rinse them and gently brush them with a soft toothbrush and clear, unscented soap or an aligner cleaner. Avoid hot water, which can warp them, and avoid colored or abrasive toothpaste.

What is Invisalign and how does it work?
A: Invisalign is a clear aligner system that straightens teeth using a series of custom, removable trays instead of metal brackets and wires. Each tray shifts your teeth a little at a time. You wear each set for about one to two weeks before moving to the next. Learn more on our Invisalign page.
How many hours a day do I have to wear my aligners?
A: Plan to wear them 20 to 22 hours every day. Take them out only to eat, to drink anything other than water, and to brush and floss. Consistent wear is the single biggest factor in finishing on time.
How long does Invisalign treatment take?
A: Many patients finish in about 12 to 18 months. Minor cases can take as little as six months, while complex cases take longer. Your timeline depends on your needs and how consistently you wear your aligners.
Will Invisalign affect how I talk?
A: You may notice a slight lisp for a day or two as your tongue adjusts. It fades quickly, and almost no one else will notice. Most patients speak normally within a couple of days.
Is Invisalign as good as braces?
A: For many cases, yes. Modern Invisalign can treat a wide range of problems, including many complex bites that once required braces. Some difficult cases still do best with braces. Dr. Soper will give you an honest recommendation at your free visit. Compare options on our clear aligners page.
Can Invisalign fix a complex bite, or is it only for minor cases?
A: Modern Invisalign can treat many complex bite problems, not just minor crowding. The key is an experienced provider planning the case. As a Diamond Apex Provider, Dr. Soper has the experience to plan demanding cases.
Can teenagers get Invisalign?
A: Yes. Invisalign Teen is made for teenagers and includes wear indicators that help parents and our team confirm the aligners are being worn. See our adolescent treatment page.
How much does Invisalign cost in Bellevue?
A: Invisalign typically ranges from $4,500 to $9,300, depending on the complexity of your case. In most cases it costs about the same as braces. We offer 0% financing and monthly plans. See our Invisalign cost page.
Is $5,000 a lot for Invisalign?
A: No. That figure is within the normal range for comprehensive Invisalign and is comparable to braces for a similar case. With our financing, it often works out to a manageable monthly payment.
Can I eat and drink with Invisalign?
A: You remove your aligners to eat and to drink anything other than water, then brush and put them back in. This means no food restrictions, unlike braces.
